SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

Fourteen years in IRON ORE

• Mining Processing Consultant at Exagogi Consulting Engineering Pvt Ltd for Vedanta Ltd Iron Ore, in which beneficiation technology were proposed to produce higher value products and make better use of the ore resources.

• Head of Metallurgy for Kumba Iron Ore. Various growth projects and beneficiation technologies were evaluated and implemented.

• Project Manager of the Sishen Expansion Project, which was implemented and have been operational for eight years. This period also included three years as Strategy Manager

Three years in COAL

• Plant Superintendent at Kumba Resources Limited.
• This included doing a number of green-fields growth projects and brown-fields plant expansion projects.

Eight years at a number of GOLD mining groups

• Plant Manager at Harmony Gold, SA.  

Gerhard was also involved with due diligence exercises on the purchase of coal mines and did business development exploratory investigations on iron ore and base metal projects in West Africa and Indonesia.
